StadiumFest Counseling

StadiumFest Counselor Guidelines: To follow the simple Living in Christ Bible study book designed by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association as a "read through tool" and not to promote any individual church, denomination or theology.

Purpose Statement: To immediately help confirm the decision for Christ the inquirer has just made, answer basic questions about a relationship with Christ and discover what church to refer the person to for long term follow-up.

Age Groups to be counseled: Children (12 and under); Students (13 - 18); Adults (19 and up)

Age requirements to be a counselor: To counsel children - 21 and up; to counsel students - 13 and up;
to counsel at Main Stage for general audience - 13 and up

Training Requirements: Must attend one of the two StadiumFest Counselor Training Sessions. Two dates are scheduled:

Session #1 Thursday, April 16th at 6:30 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Birmingham / 2209 Lakeshore Drive / Homewood, AL 35209

This night will feature a time of inspiration with Rick Burgess, Scott Dawson and a community-wide choir followed by a counselor training session led by Scott Lenning who trained counselors for Billy Graham for over 12 years. At this session, attendees will be introduced to the counseling materials that will be used as well as the proper method of counseling one who has just made a decision for Christ. Items to bring to training: Bible, Ballpoint Pen, Tablet

Session #2 (Make-Up Session) Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00 p.m.

First Baptist Church of Birmingham / 2209 Lakeshore Drive / Homewood, AL 35209

This session will consist of training only and will be held for those who are unable to attend the April 16th session. Items to bring to training: Bible, Ballpoint Pen, Tablet

Time Commitment the day of StadiumFest: Invitations will be presented throughout the day and counselors can be available for as much or as little as their day allows. A sign-up sheet will help StadiumFest staff know when to expect counselors.

Items to bring day of StadiumFest: Bible and ballpoint pen. A counselor badge will be provided upon arrival at StadiumFest.
